City Plus: city tour, river cruise and shopping

What is included and what is not

City Plus is the full-day version of the Ciudad del Este city tour: it adds a river cruise on the Paraná and a shopping tour to the urban route. It costs USD 40 (Gs 250.000 / R$ 200), departs at 09:00 and returns at 17:00.

• Included: the guided city tour of the main sights of Ciudad del Este and Presidente Franco.
• Included: entrance to Monday Falls.
• Included: transfer to Shopping del Este, the meeting point.
• Included: lunch.
• Included: the river cruise on the Barco Atlántico PY.
• Included: the shopping tour through Shopping del Este, Intershop and other stores.
• Included: bilingual guide throughout.
• Not included: your purchases, obviously, and anything you consume outside lunch.

The three parts of the day

City tour of Ciudad del Este and Presidente Franco

The first half of the day is the guided route through the main sights of both cities, with Monday Falls entrance included. The falls are in Presidente Franco, where the Monday river drops into the Paraná, with viewpoints facing them head on.

River cruise on the Barco Atlántico PY

The part that sets City Plus apart from any other city tour in the region: a panoramic cruise on the Paraná river aboard the Barco Atlántico PY. It is the only LTO route done on the water from the Paraguayan side, and the one that gives you the Triple Frontier waterfront seen from the river.

Shopping tour

The day closes with the guided shopping tour through Shopping del Este, Intershop and other stores. Ciudad del Este is one of the largest retail districts in South America, and for many visitors the shopping is the reason for the trip. Doing it inside the tour means the guide knows the layout of the centre and the vehicle waits for you.

City Tour or City Plus

The USD 18 difference buys lunch, the cruise, the shopping tour and four more hours. If you are crossing for the day from Foz do Iguaçu or Puerto Iguazú and want to use the whole trip, City Plus is the option that fills the day.

Payable in any of the three currencies, cash or card.

The 2-person minimum

City Plus requires a minimum booking of 2 people, unlike the city tour, which runs on regular departures with no minimum. If you are travelling alone and still want to do it, message us on WhatsApp: depending on the date there may be another group to join.

What to bring

• Valid passport or national ID, essential if you are crossing the border the same day.
• Cash or card for shopping: the shopping tour is included, the merchandise is not.
• Comfortable shoes: the Monday Falls viewpoints have stairs and walkways.
• Sunscreen, a hat and water, especially for the cruise.
• A bag with room for whatever you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a visa for Paraguay?

It depends on your nationality. Brazilian, Argentine and Uruguayan citizens do not; a valid national ID is enough. Other nationalities should check the current requirement for their passport before travelling.

How much is City Plus?

USD 40 per person, or the equivalent in Gs 250.000 or R$ 200, with a minimum of 2 people.

Is lunch included?

Yes. Lunch is included in City Plus. On the city tour, by contrast, the food stop is paid separately.

What is the Barco Atlántico PY?

It is the boat used for the panoramic river cruise on the Paraná included in City Plus. It is the only LTO departure that sails the Paraná from the Paraguayan side.

Can I do it travelling alone?
