Days, time and venue

The show runs Tuesday to Saturday and starts from 19:00. The venue is the Hoplon Club, in the Lago de la República area of Ciudad del Este. There is no performance on Sundays or Mondays.

Pick-up from hotels in Ciudad del Este is free and included in the fare: there is no need to get there on your own or pay a separate transfer. The exact pick-up time is arranged when you book, depending on where you are staying.

What happens during the evening

Dinner

A barbecue with a buffet and home-made desserts. It opens the evening and fills the first stretch while the show is set up.

The Paraguayan harp

The harp is Paraguay's national instrument and the centre of the performance. The live show puts it front and centre — it is the part that most surprises people who have never heard one played close up.

Folk dancing

The programme includes a Paraguayan folk dance show. It is the most visual part of the night and the one that ends up in the photographs: the bottle dance, the play of the skirts and the traditional costume.

Caña tasting

The evening includes a tasting of Paraguayan caña, the sugarcane spirit that is the country's traditional drink. It is a short toast within the programme, not an open bar.

Who it works well for

It is the departure that best closes a day of tours in Ciudad del Este, because it starts at 19:00 and does not clash with any of LTO's morning or afternoon departures. It is also one of the few options in the region designed for families: there is a child fare for ages 7 to 12, the hotel transfer is included and the evening ends at a reasonable hour.

And for anyone crossing from Foz do Iguaçu or Puerto Iguazú, it is the most direct way to see Paraguayan music and dance on the Paraguayan side, rather than an export version of it.
