How much it costs
Gs 175.000, half a day, Tuesday to Sunday with pick-up at 08:30. It is the departure that packs the most places into the lowest price of any LTO tour: four stops for Gs 25.000 more than the short dam visit.

The four stops
Tierra Guaraní Museum
The stop that gives the tour its name and connects it to Guaraní identity: the museum works as the entrance to the route and puts the history and culture of the region in context before you see the dam.
Itaipu hydroelectric dam
The same visit LTO sells separately for Gs 150.000, here included in the package. You cover the viewpoints over the Paraná, with the wall and the reservoir in view. If the dam is all you want, the 2-hour short visit is enough; Tierra Guaraní includes it and adds three more stops.
Tatí Yupí Park
The nature park on the shore of the Itaipu reservoir is the green part of the route and the only one with its own weather rule: Tatí Yupí Park does not admit visitors on rainy days. It is the most concrete caveat of any LTO tour and worth bearing in mind when choosing your date.
Panoramic drive through Hernandarias
Hernandarias is the Alto Paraná town where the Itaipu complex sits, on the reservoir shore. The drive is panoramic, from the vehicle, and shows how the dam organised the life of the town around it: the waterfront, the beach on the reservoir and the neighbourhoods that grew with the project.
The rain rule
Tatí Yupí Park does not open to visitors on rainy days. It is the only weather rule across LTO's tours, and it applies here because the park is one of the four stops. The other three —museum, dam and the Hernandarias drive— have no weather restriction.
If the forecast for your date looks heavy, message us on WhatsApp before the tour and we will talk it through. There is no fixed rescheduling policy: it is handled case by case.
Passenger details
Confirming the booking requires full details of every passenger, the same as the short Itaipu visit. It is the admission requirement of the complex, not an LTO formality. Send the full name and document number of each person along with the date in your first message.
What to bring
- Identity document for each passenger, the same one whose details you sent when booking.
- Comfortable closed shoes for Tatí Yupí Park.
- Insect repellent: the park stop is outdoors and wooded.
- Sunscreen, a hat and water.
How to book
On WhatsApp at +595 983 945945, with 24 hours' notice, and confirmed once you send full passenger details. Include the date, the number of people and your hotel in Ciudad del Este so we can arrange the 08:30 pick-up.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to cross into Brazil?
No. The whole route is on the Paraguayan side, between Ciudad del Este and Hernandarias, so there are no border formalities inside the tour.
Do I need a visa for Paraguay?
It depends on your nationality. Brazilian, Argentine and Uruguayan citizens do not; a valid national ID is enough. Other nationalities should check the current requirement for their passport before travelling.
What happens if it rains on the day?
Tatí Yupí Park is not visited on rainy days. It is our only weather rule. Message us on WhatsApp before the departure and we will sort it out.
Tierra Guaraní or the short Itaipu visit?
Tierra Guaraní costs Gs 175.000 and fills half a day with four stops. The short dam visit costs Gs 150.000 and lasts 2 hours. For Gs 25.000 more, Tierra Guaraní adds the museum, the park and the Hernandarias drive.
