What this transfer is

It is a private, door-to-door transfer between Ciudad del Este and Puerto Iguazú. We pick you up wherever you are — your hotel, your home, an office or any spot you tell us — and drop you at IGR airport or at the bus terminal, whichever you need. The vehicle carries only your group: you do not share the ride with other passengers and we do not stop to pick anyone up on the way.

Rates to Puerto Iguazú Airport (IGR)

LTO's transfer from Ciudad del Este to Puerto Iguazú International Airport costs Gs 600.000 for a group of 1 to 4 passengers. If 5 to 10 people travel, the rate is Gs 1.000.000, and for 10 to 16 passengers it is Gs 1.600.000. In all three cases the price is per vehicle and per leg, so a group of four pays the same as one person travelling alone.

IGR airport lies outside the centre of Puerto Iguazú, on the road to Iguazú National Park, and is the region's air gateway to the rest of Argentina.

Rates to the Puerto Iguazú bus terminal

The transfer from Ciudad del Este to the Puerto Iguazú bus terminal costs Gs 500.000 for a group of 1 to 4 passengers. For a group of 5 to 10 the rate is Gs 900.000, and for one of 10 to 16 passengers, Gs 1.800.000. The terminal is in the centre of Puerto Iguazú, and long-distance buses leave from there.

The rates apply in both directions: we take you there or pick you up.

The route crosses two borders

To get from Ciudad del Este to Puerto Iguazú you have to cross Brazilian territory: you leave Paraguay over the Friendship Bridge, cross Foz do Iguaçu and enter Argentina over the Tancredo Neves Bridge. That is two borders in a single trip, which is why it pays to travel with an operator that handles the route day to day and knows when the bridge gets jammed.

Our driver is used to this route and stays with your group from start to finish. You do not have to find a different taxi on each side or move your luggage from one vehicle to another: it is the same car and the same driver all the way.

Documents for the crossing

Every passenger needs a valid ID document or passport, children included. Immigration requirements are set by Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina according to each traveller's nationality, not by the operator. If you have questions about your case, message us before you book. Which vehicle you get

LTO has its own fleet, so the vehicle is assigned according to the size of the group and the luggage. A couple with two suitcases travels in a Mercedes GLA 200 or an MG ZS; a family of four with airline luggage, in a Ford Explorer or a Mercedes ML 350. Medium-sized groups fit in the Hyundai H1 (10+1), the Maxus V90 (14+1) and the Foton (16+1). If there are more than sixteen of you, we have the Mercedes Sprinter (19+1) and the Volare V8L (30+2), and in that case we give you a custom quote for the transfer.

Transfer or tour: which one suits you

This service is transport, not sightseeing. If what you want is to see Puerto Iguazú, the better fit is the Puerto Iguazú tour from Ciudad del Este, which costs Gs 800.000 for up to 4 people, leaves at 08:00 and returns at 16:00, and includes the Argentine side of the Iguazú Falls, the Devil's Throat, La Aripuca and the Hito Tres Fronteras.

The transfer, on the other hand, is the option when you have a flight out of IGR, a bus leaving from the terminal or a meeting at a set time. You go straight there, with no sightseeing stops, and the rate reflects that difference: Gs 600.000 to the airport and Gs 500.000 to the terminal, for a group of up to four.

• Travellers flying out of IGR. Many passengers who shop in Ciudad del Este fly back to Buenos Aires from Puerto Iguazú.
• Travellers who fly in and continue to Paraguay. We meet you at arrivals and drop you at your hotel in Ciudad del Este.

Is the rate per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle and per leg. The Gs 600.000 to IGR airport covers a group of 1 to 4 passengers: whether one person travels or four, the price is the same.

What is the difference between the airport and the terminal?

They are two different destinations within Puerto Iguazú. Puerto Iguazú International Airport (IGR) is outside the town, on the way to the national park, and costs Gs 600.000. The bus terminal is in the centre and costs Gs 500.000.

Does the transfer include the border crossing?

Yes. The rate is end to end and includes both crossings, the Friendship Bridge and the Tancredo Neves Bridge. The driver makes the whole journey with your group.

Can I book the transfer in the opposite direction?

Yes, we pick you up in Puerto Iguazú and bring you to Ciudad del Este. The rates are the same in both directions, and if you want a round trip, both legs are quoted.

What if there are more than sixteen of us?

Message us and we will quote it. We have the Mercedes Sprinter (19+1) and the Volare V8L (30+2), so a large group still travels together, in a single coordinated service.
