Times and meeting point
Departure is at 08:00 and the return at 16:00, with pick-up from your hotel in Ciudad del Este. When you book, you give us the name of your hotel and we arrange the exact time at the door. There is no meeting point to reach on your own, and no need to cross the border separately.
What the tour visits
The tour combines the most famous natural attraction of the Triple Frontier with two shorter stops on the Argentine side. There are four stops:
Iguazú Falls, Argentine side
Iguazú National Park, on the Argentine side, holds half of the system of falls that Argentina and Brazil share. Unlike the panoramic view from the Brazilian side, here the route follows walkways that run in among the falls, so there is a good deal more walking. Admission costs ARS 45.000 and is paid at the park's ticket office.
Devil's Throat
It is the largest fall in the system and the point where the Iguazú river plunges straight into the canyon. On the Argentine side you reach it along a long walkway that ends at a balcony on the very edge of the drop. It is the stop that takes the most time in the day, and the one you should not leave until the last moment.
La Aripuca
La Aripuca is a structure built from the trunks of native trees that works as an interpretation space for the Misiones rainforest and for traditional woodworking. Admission costs ARS 8.000, is paid on site and the visit is short: it is the stop that balances the day after hours of walking in the park.
Hito Tres Fronteras
The Hito Tres Fronteras is the Argentine viewpoint over the confluence of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers, with the obelisk painted in the country's colours and a view of Paraguay and Brazil at the same time. It closes the route, and it is where the geography of the Triple Frontier makes sense at a glance.
How many people fit and what happens if there are more than four
The service is designed for 1 to 4 passengers and the Gs 800.000 fare is the same whether one or four of you travel. For 5 or more passengers, the quote is separate: LTO has its own fleet with vehicles of up to 30 seats, so your group fits, but the price depends on the vehicle required.
Documents for crossing into Argentina
The tour crosses two borders in the day, so every passenger needs a valid passport or national ID, children included. Immigration requirements are set by Argentina and Paraguay according to your nationality, not by the tour operator: if you have any doubts about your case, message us before booking.
Argentine side or Brazilian side
The two departures are separate because each one is its own day out. The Brazilian side is covered by the transfer to Iguazú Falls in Brazil, which costs Gs 650.000 for up to 4 people and gives you the panoramic view of the curtain of falls. The Argentine side, this tour, costs Gs 800.000 and adds the Devil's Throat, La Aripuca and the Hito Tres Fronteras.
If you have time for both, the usual plan is one day on each side rather than trying to combine them: each park takes up the whole day.
What to bring
- Valid passport or national ID for every passenger.
- Argentine pesos in cash or a card for the tickets, which are paid on the other side.
- Comfortable, closed shoes: the circuit of walkways on the Argentine side is done on foot.
- Clothes you do not mind getting wet, or a light rain jacket, for the Devil's Throat balcony.
- Sunscreen, a cap and water.
