Times and meeting point
For Cruceros Iguazú, pick-up is from your hotel in Ciudad del Este. The time is arranged when you book, because it depends on the catamaran's departure on your date: there is no regular departure you can join at the last minute.
This tour has no fixed time. Message us on WhatsApp with your date and we will give you the time that applies.
What the trip is like
The trip is on board the Victoria Austral catamaran, which sails the Iguazú river in the Triple Frontier area, where the Iguazú flows into the Paraná and all three banks are in view: Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. It is the only LTO tour that takes in the Triple Frontier from the water on the Argentine side.
On board, the programme includes panoramic views, live music, shows, food and drinks. It is a trip for cruising and lingering at the table rather than for walking: it works to round off a day of tours, or for a quiet afternoon if you have already seen the parks.
Why book it from the Paraguayan side
The catamaran sails from Puerto Iguazú, so almost every package that sells it starts in Argentina or in Foz do Iguaçu. If you are staying in Ciudad del Este, that means handling two border crossings in a day on your own and connecting with transport on the other side. LTO operates from the Paraguayan side: the vehicle picks you up at the door of your hotel, takes you to the boarding point and brings you back to the same place.
LTO is a tour operator licensed by Paraguay's National Tourism Secretariat under registration no. 415 and registered with IATA under number 90501143. It invoices in Paraguay and works with its own fleet and drivers, so the transfer is not outsourced.
How many people fit and what happens if there are more than four
The transfer is designed for 1 to 4 passengers and the Gs 750.000 fare is the same whether one or four of you travel. For 5 or more passengers, the quote is separate: LTO has its own fleet with vehicles of up to 30 seats, so your group fits, but the price is worked out according to the vehicle required. Capacity on board the catamaran is managed by the cruise operator.
Documents for crossing into Argentina
This departure crosses the border to Puerto Iguazú, so every passenger needs a valid passport or national ID, children included. Immigration requirements are set by Argentina and Paraguay according to your nationality, not by the tour operator: if you have any doubts about your case, message us before booking.
How it fits with the rest of the day
The cruise can be added to the Puerto Iguazú tour, which covers the Falls on the Argentine side, the Devil's Throat, La Aripuca and the Hito Tres Fronteras for Gs 800.000 for up to 4 people. It also goes with Dinner in Puerto Iguazú, which runs from 19:00 to 23:00 and costs Gs 450.000 on a double-occupancy basis.
If you want to do more than one thing in Puerto Iguazú on the same day, tell us when you book: they are separate transfers and it is better to arrange them as a single service than to book two.
What to bring
- Valid passport or national ID for every passenger.
- Argentine pesos in cash or a card for the catamaran ticket, which is paid there.
- Sunscreen and a cap: the catamaran's deck is open to the sky.
- A light jacket if the trip falls at sunset: it gets cooler on the river.
- A camera or a charged phone for the view of the three banks.
